Our team of Volunteers are the momentum behind every meal we share, bringing our vision of healthy, nourishing food to life.

Every Friday, they help load fresh, local produce into refrigerated vans and set up welcoming ‘market stalls’ at local primary schools and community centres.

But their role goes far beyond handing out bags of food – they introduce families to the benefits of fresh, great-tasting ingredients in a warm and approachable way, share simple recipe tips, and spark children’s excitement about eating well. By engaging parents in conversations about healthy, freshly grown food and offering an extra piece of fruit for the journey home, volunteers turn every food collection into an opportunity for education, inspiration, and lasting positive change.

Volunteers

Our team of volunteers bring our charity’s aim to life — turning fresh, locally grown produce into moments of connection, learning and joy each week. From loading vans and setting up welcoming stalls to sharing simple recipe ideas and inspiring children to try something new, they bring energy, warmth and heart to every Friday.

We’re always delighted to welcome new volunteers, whether you can help regularly or from time to time. If you’d like to get involved, please follow the link below for more details and contact information.

What Our Volunteers think

“It’s great when you see the children and their families coming out of school so happy to see us and we them and chatting about what they will cook with the produce. A very worthwhile organisation to spend my time with.”

Jane

“I believe it’s important for a child’s development to eat good quality home-made food. We supply excellent foods with recipes to families in need. I personally enjoy the friendships with co-workers and shared time together.”

Sue

“I’ve been volunteering with Farm Fresh Revolution for a few years now, and honestly, I feel like I get so much more out of it than I ever give! What really keeps me coming back are the people – the team I volunteer with are just brilliant. I’ve met so many funny, inspiring, and downright lovely people, and together we get stuck in, making sure fresh food gets delivered to schools.”

Sarah

“I’ve even surprised myself along the way – who would’ve thought I’d end up confidently driving a big white van? At first, the idea was terrifying, but now I actually enjoy it! It’s a proper workout too, loading and unloading, though the group has always been amazingly supportive when I had an injury. There’s always a way to contribute, even if not at full strength.”

Sarah

“When I moved to Barton, I wanted to volunteer with something that really mattered. Farm Fresh lets me be part of a great team while helping families enjoy fresh food and discover new recipes.”

Beveley

“One of my favourite parts is seeing the smiles from the people we deliver to. I always try to bring a bit of chat and a smile, and more often than not I get plenty back in return. By the time Friday night rolls around, I head home feeling like I’ve really helped spread the joy of good, fresh, healthy food – and that’s the best feeling in the world.”

Sarah

“When I retired, I wanted to give something back. Volunteering with Farm Fresh means being part of a great team, meeting wonderful school communities, and helping families enjoy fresh, locally grown food. The children’s smiles say it all.”

Rosemary

“I volunteer for Farm Fresh because I believe in what it stands for – helping families enjoy fresh, healthy food and a love of good cooking. It’s also a big part of my retired life – giving back, sharing a laugh, and enjoying the Friday cake!”
