Shake & Bake Chicken


  1. Preheat the oven to 190ºC/gm5.
  2. MAKE: Put all the dry ingredients into the food bag and give a good shake to mix.
  3. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with a paper towel, (removing the skins first if you prefer), the drier the surface, the more the coating will stick.
  4. SHAKE: Add 2 of the drumsticks to the zip-lock food bag and shake! Remove once they have a good coating and repeat with the other 2 drumsticks.
  5. BAKE : Melt the butter in an ovenproof dish, add the coated chicken and drizzle with oil. Bake for 30 mins then turn over and bake for a further 15 for a really crispy coating.


4 chicken drumsticks

40g plain flour

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

zip-lock food bag

50g butter

drizzle of oil
